Loved these! They were comfortable and hardly took any breaking in. They are fantastic at keeping water out, and haven't gotten any dirt/mud on them although I've worn them in some pretty rough conditions

After getting a pair for myself, I convinced my wife to try these. She loves them. Very comfortable and excellent for taking a hike in. Recommended.

These shoes have Merrell's great fit and supportive construction but do not feel like a sneaker. They lack cushioning, flexibility, and padding that give a sneaker feel but it is not missed in this shoe. No break in was needed. They tend to pick up smaller stones that lodge tight in the crevices, making it necessary to take 'em off when entering the house to avoid scratching the hardwood floors. This feature is somewhat minor but I'd prefer not to have to deal with the inconvenience.
