I bought these because my hiking shoes were slipping on the wet rocks in SoCal canyons. The first time I wore them in a canyon I was absolutely amazed at their stick to rocks. I felt very solid on wet and slick rock. They were also very comfortable right out of the box.

"FiveTen's Camp Four Hiking Shoe" is a rugged, comfortable walking shoe, good for a variety of walking surfaces. The thick sole, exo-heel cup, and rubberized toe bumpers provide good protection. The lacing system allows a good fit. The shoe is a low-quarter cut with padded ankles, and the shoe skin seems water resistent. This reviewer has found them more than adequate for three-season use in Alaska.
"FiveTen's Camp Four Hiking Shoe" is highly recommended for walking in the great outdoors.

I bought these shoes for my 14 yr old son, that had seen a show on the five ten products for climbing... He fell in love with the idea, although they cost a bit more than I wanted to pay, they have proven to be very a durable shoe. He is VERY rough on shoes we go thru about 4 pair or more in a single school year. They have also been right on size and he says they are very very comfortable..
